New Office

I have finally settled in the new offices we have just moved into. The building is new (some of the floors are still being built as I type this).

New people around, new restaurants, new parking space, and most of all, no windows. I had windows in the last office, not here. That’s sad. A little. Well, ok, it’s not THAT important, I did not use the windows in the old office, so why bother?

Wish me luck.

The world we live in, and me

You see the fights, you will avoid them. Aggravation, you will avoid. In fact, you avoid anything that you deem negative. Blood, Shooting, Death – These are things you mostly see in the news; most of us (including myself).

Some will say, some things – better not know. You better not experience SOME things. I say, how will you know if you don’t? The closest you can imagine a situation, it will be a general script, but never the experience. An experience leaves a mark on you, your imagination will never. Whatever you can imagine, is made out of things, elements, that are and have been in you, whether recycled from other elements and thoughts, or planted from someone else’s recycled and processed elements. Still, its the same, it is not until you have experienced, that you Really know, and then you have the mark. This is the mark that triggers the original elements with which you mix all your other inner or outer planted elements, and pass on to others. This is the cocktail of originality, which can either portray you as crazy, or as original and artistic, or maybe a product of an incident/event, one that should pass.

Am I going to realize that at some point I am going to have to put myself on a track which will lead to my positioning such that I will experience such an event that will leave a mark in me forever?

I don’t know. Who knows? Nobody. Nobody? Somebody knows. Someone inside me? Maybe. Is this a dialog between me and myself? Possibly.

This is too scary.

It is possible to trigger a response in a human being, desired or undesired. Many times, the sequence to trigger the specific response, can not be repeated for more than 2 to 3 times. We have to therefor find the delta, the basic general element in the sequence that actually causes the desired effect, the chain reaction in the human brain.

Question: When we find the delta, how do we keep applying it over and over again, without reaching over the edge and falling into an abyss of no return?

Where is the line between personal and public?

This is a personal logger. Is it a diary? perhaps. Is it personal? definitely!

So where do I draw the line between what I place as public, and what I place as private?

This is something I might leave to be discovered by actual events (if someone reads something and then sue me, I guess I will take more precautions :-)).

The Anchor and the Ship

There once was an abandoned anchor on the bottom of the sea. The anchor was lonely, but it had all the water in the world, and the fish, and the plankton, and the sand that served as a comfortable pillow. The bottom of the sea was comfy, and the anchor liked that… but something bothered the Anchor… and memories of a once prosperous career as an anchor of a ship kept coming back, once in a while. It all stopped one day, when the chain that held the anchor broke, and he dove into the depth of the ocean, to rest there forever. Indeed it was sad, and the anchor longed for some action.

Every once in a while, a ship would be seen high above, but that ship would already have an anchor. Sometimes, some of the anchors would anchor next to him, and they would tell him stories of the big world, and what’s going on up there, and how the ship liked them, and how all the sailors cleaned them from plankton and salt every time they were pulled back on board… but not for our poor little anchor, who was by now covered with sand, salt, and algae. This only depressed our anchor.

One day, a ship came by, that had no anchor. The ship was shiny and functional, and it aspired to greatness, but then, how great can a ship be without an anchor? And that’s why when the ship noticed the anchor, and the anchor noticed the ship, they both though that this is a marriage that could only be devised in heaven! And so, the two have discussed an agreement where the anchor would serve as this ship’s anchor, and the ship would be the anchor’s ship, and all were happy.

The next day, the task of lowering a chain from the ship, and attaching it to the anchor, has begun. Sailors were sent to the bottom of the sea, and the chain was securely attached to the anchor… but alas, a storm was coming, and it was now time to go back home. Raise the Anchor, shouted the cap’n of the ship… “RAISE THE ANCHOR”!!!

The sailors worked hard, trying to pull the chain… they used the motor, but this did not help.. they tried prodding, and moving back and forth the ship, and turning around, and doing it all around, but nothing would work.. the anchor was too tied to the bottom of the ocean and would not leave. Hi-ho.. Hi-hooo…. the sailors wept and pulled… finally, the storm brew stronger and more violent, until the sea become high and swallowed the ship along with the strong and shining crew.

Thinking Machines – Good / Bad

Data Mining is missing from our lives. It could be used so much, but is not… why?

Data Collection is a difficult and hated task for most people. Not many people like the fact that they have to swipe a card when they get into and out of work.

That’s just one example, but it demonstrates a fact that will just not change. Nothing we can do, will make people LIKE data collection. Just take the entire Privacy issue – People are really getting sensitive about their privacy. Some like their privacy because of all the junk mail they get, and some are just doing it because of ideology – a person’s privacy should be kept religiously.

This can mean two things:

1. We could create machines that collect data on their own, for example, find when I come to work for the first time that day, and mark it down. How does this affect privacy?
2. We just give up on the entire data collection issue, and hope the world will become a better place, without all of the technology advances.

Fucked country

I live in a Fucked country. All the officials in this country are not fit for the job. You would think that someone who is going to run a country would have several degrees in psychology and a strong financial background… Not to mention a very high mark in a very well conceived emotional intelligence test.

Israel is surrounded by Arab countries. You would think that expert negotiation teams would be setup among all of the sides, but this is not done. why? beats me.

Am I the only one who know what should be done in order to bring world peace? If this is the case, then just tell me, and I will certainly do it. If the fags up there in governments can’t do it, I’ll override all of their power and bring world peace and an end to hunger and misery.

Wait a sec… I will have to leave my job which I like very much… hm… kinda makes you think twice, doesn’t it…? nah. I should probably scrap this so that nobody gets any ideas… there, I’ll just push this Post button here, and it will cancel the post…
